CRITERIA

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

For outstanding TR-related volunteerism.  May be bestowed annually to only one (1) volunteer in TR-related setting.  Recipient may receive one (1) time in any ten (10) year period

Qualifications

  1. Not BOD or committee member at time of nomination, selection or receipt

  2. Two (2) or more years service to TR-related program/organization within jurisdiction

  3. Worked toward fulfilling program/organization mission and vision

  4. Excellent attendance, dependability and adherence to policy and procedure

  5. Demonstrated empathy, caring and sensitivity

  6. TR contribution demonstrated by one (1) of following:

  1. Prepared, sponsored, or supported local, state or national TR-related public policy as supported by WSTRA.

  2. Addressed one (1) or more groups in person, on radio or TV regarding TR and/or the program/organization volunteering for.

  3. TR-related research contribution.

  4. Created, designed or manufactured equipment improving recreation experiences for people with disabilities.

  5. Raised significant funds for program/organization volunteering for.

  6. Other exemplary contributions to TR and/or program/organization volunteering for.
