WSTRA Community Therapeutic Recreation Specialist of the Year

 

For exceptional contribution to community TR.  May be bestowed annually to only one (1) community TR specialist.

 

Criteria

  1. Certified by NCTRC®.
  2. Not a WSTRA Board or Professional Recognition Committee member at time of nomination, selection or receipt.
  3. Two (2) or more years experience providing or supervising the application of TR services in a community setting.
  4. During preceding year, contributed to community TR in two (2) of following:
  1. Evidence of creative and/or innovative community TR programs developed to meet a specific population need.
  2. Documented case study of a client with a positive outcome related to TR programming.
  3. Evidence of exceptional community TR treatment development and implementation.
  4. Provision of one (1) or more professional development presentations regarding community TR treatment.
  5. Authored or co-authored one (1) or more professional development publications regarding community TR treatment.
  6. Supervision of one (1) or more TR students during practicum or internship in a community TR setting.
  7. One (1) or more presentations of information related to community TR to secondary school or higher education students.
  8. Other meritorious contributions to community TR.
