WSTRA State Public Policy
State and Local Legislation
WSTRA's monitors our state and local legislation affecting our profession and the quality of life of our clients. Such monitoring picks up issues as have occured in the past such as:
- Physical therapy requesting their practice act codify community integration exclusivity.
- Changes to recreational therapy registration fee structure
- Changes to accessible public transit
Licensure
WSTRA has obtained a grant from the American Therapeutic Recreation Association to hold a Summit on state RT licensure to learn more about the process and determine our need/desire to complete the process. This Summit is being held as a Pre-Symposium session at the 2011 WSTRA NW TR Symposium. Stay tuned for information regarding our next steps toward licensure. If you have comments, information or concerns, please contact our State Public Policy Chair.
