CRITERIA

OUTSTANDING THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROTOCOL OR PROGRAM

For exceptional/innovative/creative/unique programs used by one (1) or more TR professionals in treatment, education or recreation provision.  Bestowed to program/ protocol creator(s) only when ALL criteria are met.  Recipient program may receive award only once unless so improved as to be substantially unique

Qualifications

  1. Implemented within jurisdiction.

  2. Creator(s) is(are) not Board of Director or Committee chair(s) or member(s) at time of nomination, selection or receipt.

  3. Evidence of program development driven by demonstrated consumer need analysis.

  4. Created, developed, organized, administered and implemented by or under supervision of TR professionals who are certified by NCTRCÒ and state registered as recreational therapists.  Used in treatment, education or recreation provision.

  5. Appropriate written description including all appropriate criteria, considerations and risk management.

  6. Based on TR-related evidence.

  7. Innovative, creative or unique as demonstrated by one (1) of following:

  1. Substantial evidence of no other similar existing program.

  2. Evidence of substantial improvement or innovation to already existing programs as to be considered unique.

  3. Evidence of already existing program implemented in a creative way as to accomplish substantially innovative or unique goals.

  4. Other evidence of innovation, creativity or uniqueness.

  1. Accomplishment of goals as demonstrated by one (1) of following:

  1. Outcome-based case study demonstrating goal accomplishment.

  2. Research results demonstrating stated outcome accomplishment.

  3. Quality improvement results demonstrating goal accomplishment.

  4. Other evidence of client goal achievement.
