CRITERIA
OUTSTANDING THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROFESSIONAL
Highest recognition, for exceptional TR accomplishment. Bestowed only when ALL criteria are met
Qualifications
-
At least seven (7) years TR-related experience.
-
Member at time of nomination. Notably and actively participated in WSTRA, ATRA,
NTRS and/or NCTRCÒ activities throughout seven (7) year TR-related experience period.
-
Not a member of BOD or WSTRA committee at time of nomination, selection or receipt.
-
Certified by NCTRCÒ
and state registered as recreational therapist.
-
Distinguished TR service demonstrated by one (1) of following:
-
Exemplary contributions
-
Significantly involved in local,
state or national TR-related public policy.
-
Notorious TR promotion in allied health, physical education, athletics, health education, science, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, rehabilitation or education.
-
Other distinguished service promoting
or advancing TR.
-
Distinguished TR leadership demonstrated by two (2) of following:
-
Outstanding service as an elected officer of WSTRA,
WRPA, ATRA, NTRS, NRPA and/or NCTRCÒ
during seven (7) year TR-related experience period.
-
Exceptional service as chair or
member of a committee of WSTRA, WRPA, ATRA, NTRS, NRPA and/or NCTRCÒ
during seven (7) year TR-related experience period.
-
Excellent service as a state, regional
or national liaison to WRPA, ATRA, NTRS, NRPA and/or NCTRCÒ,
an accrediting body or an organization engaged in professional issues related to
TR during seven (7) year TR-related experience period.
-
Service as editor or on a review board for TR-related
news or scholarly publication.
-
Other distinguished leadership
supporting or advancing TR.
-
Meritorious contributions to TR advancement demonstrated by two (2) of following:
-
Formulated innovative/unique TR-related program/protocol meeting specific needs.

Addressed at least three (3) groups in person, on radio or TV
regarding TR.
-
Authored or co-authored two (2) or
more publications promoting, supporting or advancing TR, with no more than one
(1) published in a newsletter within Washington State. Publications may
include, but are not limited to:

Case studies.
-
Articles.
-
Audiovisual materials.
-
Computer-based or or Internet
materials.
-
Booklets or pamphlets.
-
Chapters or books.
-
Service as principle investigator for
TR-related research.
-
Other meritorious contributions
advancing TR.

Exemplary contributions to TR professional
development demonstrated by one (1) of following:

Developed/improved innovative professional
development or curriculum materials in college, university, experiential, field, workshop, conference
or computer-based setting.

Developed/implemented/improved innovative or unique professional
development programs in college, university, experiential, field, workshop, conference
or computer-based setting.

Supervised at least one (1) student enabling successful internship.

Supervised at least one (1) intern enabling a successful
entry-level professional.
