CRITERIA
COMMENDATION OF MERIT
For exceptional contributions to WSTR/TR.
May be bestowed annually to one (1) or more persons, not a WSTRA
member or TR-related volunteer, OR to one (1) or more public, private or
voluntary organizations advocating, promoting and/or supporting the delivery of
TR-related services or adaptive recreation to people with disabilities OR to one
(1) or more institutions providing TR-related health, treatment, rehabilitation
and/or human services. Recipient may receive one (1) time in any ten (10) year
period.
Qualifications
-
Lived, worked or organized within jurisdiction when contributions made
-
Contributed to WSTRA/TR in one (1) or
more of following in last five (5) years:

Prepared, sponsored, or supported local, state or
national TR-related public policy as supported by WSTRA.

Raised significant funds to benefit
WSTRA or TR.
-
Addressed one (1) or more groups in person, on radio or TV
regarding WSTRA and/or TR.
-
Sponsored or supported WSTRA and/or
TR professional development.
-
Supported one (1) or more TR professionals in
TR-related research, holding professional association offices, presenting
instruction, authoring or editing publications, developing audiovisual material
or attending professional development.
-
Recognized contributor to one (1) or
more WSTRA and/or TR-related publications.
-
Developed one (1) or more new techniques, programs or protocols in
TR treatment, education or recreation provision.
-
Created, designed or manufactured equipment improving recreation experiences for people with disabilities.
-
TR-related research contribution.
-
Other exemplary contributions to
WSTRA and/or TR.
